Parijaat Tree :
Just 15 minutes away from the Royal Upvan,there is very ancient heritage Parijat tree, which is mythological as well as botanically important.Its mythological importance is for that in the Mahabharat period, Arjuna brought this tree from heaven for his mother Kunti and Kunti used to anoint Lord Shiva with its flowers. Secondly, Lord Krishna had brought this tree for his beloved queen Satyabhama. Historically, whether one believes these things or not, it is true that this tree has a very ancient background. The following is said in Harivansh Purana about Parijat. Parijat is a type of Kalpavriksha, it is said that it exists only in heaven. Whoever makes a wish under this tree, it is definitely fulfilled. In religious and ancient literature, we find many references to Kalpavriksha, but evidence of its existence is not found anywhere else in the world except Kintur (Barabanki). Due to which this unique Parijat tree of Kintoor has a special place in the world.
In botanical terms, Parijat is known as ‘Adansonia Digitata’, and it has been kept in a special category, because it does not produce its own fruit or its seeds, nor can another Parivar tree be reproduced from a graft of its branch. According to botanists, it is a unisex male tree, and no such tree has been found anywhere else.The leaves of this tree in the lower part have five tips like the fingers of a hand, while in the upper part of the tree they have seven tips. Its flower is very beautiful and white in color, and when dried it becomes gold in color. Its flower has five petals. This tree rarely blooms in very small numbers, but when it does, it is only after 'Ganga Dussehra', its fragrance spreads far and wide. The age of this tree is considered to be 1000 to 5000 years. The circumference of the trunk of this tree is about 50 feet and the height is about 45 feet. Another popular thing that is popular is that its branches do not break or dry up, but they shrink and disappear from the main stem. The people around consider it their protector and their debtor, so they protect its leaves and flowers at all costs. The local people hold it in very high regard, apart from this a large number of tourists come to see this unique tree.
Kailashpuri Dham :
Kailashpuri Dham is only 5 minutes distance from Royal Upvan which is surrounded by the forest, is the temple of Lord Shankar which is very ancient. Many people come from door to door to see this place. This Dham is also very important from the ancient point of view about which many stories are prevalent. It is in the month of Saawan. A special fair is held in the temple in which devotees come in large numbers.
Mahadeva Temple (Lodheshwar mahadev temple) :
Mahadeva temple is just 30 minutes drive from Royal Upvan. Lodheshwar Mahadev Mandir is the temple of Lord Shiva The deity of Shivling worshiped in this temple is one of the rarest of the 52 Shivlings found on the Shakti Pithas across India. This ancient temple has been mentioned several times in Mahabharat. Pandav after the Mahabharata had performed the Mahayagya at this place, a well exists even today by the name Pandav-Kup. It is said in the vedas that the water of the well is having spiritual qualities and those who drink this water get cured of a number of ailments.
Kotwa Dham :
Kotwa Dham is just 20 minutes drive form Royal Upvan.This place is the temple of Baba Jagjivan Das the founder of the ‘Satnaami’ sect at Kotwa, popularly known as Kotwa Dham, with a very beautiful pond nearby.Thousands of pilgrims take holy dip in this pond during the Fairs held in the months of October and April.
Kunteshwar Temple :
Kunteshwar Temple is 15 minutes far away from Royal upvan and situated at village kintoor on the name of Mahabharat period, Arjuna mother Kunti. It is believed that Mother Kunti had established this temple here and it was named Kunteshwar Temple after her name.
Bhitauli :
This historical place is only 35 minutes drive from Royal upvan. On the banks of the stream Soti is Bhitauli, the last front of the Freedom fighters of the First war of Indian Independence in 1857-1858. Here Raja Guru Bux Singh with his men fought the British bravely. This place has a fort and sufficient remains of the freedom struggle and hence it has been declared as the place on the protected historical heritage list.
Rafi Ahmad Kidwai Tomb (Masauli) :
After 10 minutes drive from Royal Upvan, This is the birth place of Late Shri Rafi Ahmad Kidwai, great freedom fighter, politician and statesman of India. He was buried in Masauli after he left for his heavenly abode and a tomb was built in his memory. Masauli is the home of the illustrious Kidwais.
